Overview

SiteData (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the SiteData platform at sitedata.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. By using SiteData, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This policy applies to all users of the SiteData platform, including visitors to our website and registered account holders.

02

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the Service.

Account Information

When you register, we collect your email address, name, and any profile information you provide through our authentication provider (Clerk). This is necessary to create and manage your account.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the Service, including search queries, filters applied, parcels viewed, and features accessed. This helps us improve the platform and personalize your experience.

Payment Information

Billing and payment details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance program.

Technical Data

IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and session data collected automatically when you access the Service. This data helps us diagnose technical issues and maintain platform security.

03

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Service. Specifically:

  • Provide and operate the Service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts)
  • Respond to support inquiries and provide customer service
  • Improve and develop new features based on usage patterns
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the platform
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for targeted advertising and we do not sell your data to marketers or other third parties for their commercial purposes.

04

Data Sharing

We share your information only in limited, necessary circumstances:

Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform. These include our authentication provider (Clerk), payment processor (Stripe), cloud hosting infrastructure (AWS), and privacy-respecting analytics tools. All providers are bound by data processing agreements and may only use your data to provide services on our behalf.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SiteData, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our Service before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

05

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Service.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for session management and authentication. They allow you to log in and use the Service. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand aggregate usage patterns, such as which features are most used and how users navigate the platform. These tools are configured to minimize data collection and do not build individual profiles for advertising purposes.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect some features of the Service, including the ability to stay logged in.

06

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Usage logs are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
  • Upon account deletion, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by applicable law (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
07

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:

  • TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest
  • Access controls limiting who on our team can access user data
  • Regular security reviews and dependency updates
  • Authentication handled by Clerk, a dedicated identity provider with SOC 2 compliance

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

08

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions.
